Scalp pain is the most common symptom of head injury, headache, and some skin conditions disorders. This may occur due to trauma to the head region, including the skull, brain or scalp. Scalp pain cause discomfort around the scalp. Your head feels heavy and excruciating pain. The pain can also be mild and can be spread gradually from the forehead to the neck. Kinds of Scalp Pain


Some types of headaches can cause scalp pain, such as migraines, sinus headaches, stress headaches, and neurological disorders such as presence of occipital neuralgia. Other conditions may result in pain, infection or irritation of the scalp, such as contact dermatitis, lesions of head lice, and basal cell carcinoma or other skin cancers.

Mild pain may be easily treated at home and you should not ignore the pain if he is to continue in the long term. Better consult a doctor if you suffer from acute headaches so get proper treatment before it's too late. For treatment at home, you can take a warm compress on your head. Massage your head with ointment / balm to get immediate help. Cold compresses also help if you do not feel suffer with the cold temperatures. Crush some ice and wrap it with a towel or handkerchief. Take compress two or three times and make sure you do not put ice directly on your scalp.

Medicine Acetaminophen and NSAID’s such as ibuprofen, naproxen and ketoprofen may also help relieve pain. However, this drug should not be taken too often. Consult your doctor if you are suffering from pain in the scalp.
